2022 Categories:

Excellence in Care Award - Carer

This award recognises the skills and empathy required to deliver true person centered care


Excellence in Care Award - Registered Manager

This award will be presented to a Registered Manager who has demonstrated high levels of expertise and exception skills in managing complex businesses and teams


Excellence in Care Award - Deputy Manager/Senior

This is a new award to recognise the importance have having good deputies to support the Registered Manager.


Excellence in Care Award - Other Management
(New) This award will be presented to a Manager/Deputy/Owner who has demonstrated high levels of expertise and exception skills in managing complex businesses and teams (please note that this category is not for nominating registered managers - please see category above)


Excellence in Care Award - Other Support Staff (Cooks, Garden Staff, Administrators etc)

To recognise the contribution that non front line staff make to the care business and the quaility of service users care.


Excellence in Care Award - Activities Co-ordinators

This award aims to  recognise the contribution and dedication of the activities co-ordinator function.


Excellence in Care Award - Newcomer

To recognise and celebrate a new member of staff who is new to the care industry and has been in post for less than a year


Excellence in Care Award - Best Overall Team
A new award category. Although our other categories recognise individuals, they normally operate as a team and it is impossible to deliver good care without a good team. This award is open to overall organsiations or individual teams within those organisations


WMCA Outstanding Contribution to Care Award

In the gift of the Association, awarded to an individual who has made a difference to the Midlands care landscape.


Nominees for these awards are able to evidence that they:

  • Actively seek to support service users in achieving their outcomes
  • Support service users to take as much control over their day to day life decisions as they are able
  • Provide consistently high standards of care and support to service users and colleague
  • Respect the uniqueness of service users and actively promote dignity, choice and independence
  • Work effectively as part of a team in showing exemplary skills and dedication and commitment to their work
How to Enter:

  • Entry is open to WMCA Members only
  • Choose the Awards category or categories you wish to nominate someone for and read the judging criteria and rules carefully.
  • Complete the online nomination form
  • Entrants cannot nominate themselves and may be nominated by colleagues, managers, employers or service users/residents.
  • We only need one nomination form per organisation
  • All awards cover both residential and community support services who support vulnerable adults and children in the West Midlands Care Association Area (Herefordshire, Warwickshire, West Midlands and Worcestershire)
What Happens Next?


 

  • Nominations will be shortlisted after the closing date Friday 29 April 2022
  • The awards will be judged by a panel of independent experts. The process will be facilitated by the West Midlands Care Association (WMCA) The panel will select the finalists and everyone will be notified by Friday 27 May 2022
  • A list of finalists will be posted on the WMCA website and Facebook Page.
  • Individual finalists will be expected to attend the Award Ceremony (TBA)
  • Winners will receive an engraved award. All finalists will receive a certificate
  • The judges decision is final
